I am an experienced coach, counsellor and therapist, working privately in the Colne area and at the Lightwell Practice in Skipton.
I have experience of dealing with a broad variety of presenting complaints from anxiety, depression and self esteem issues to self harm, eating disorders, anger management and bereavement. I particularly enjoy couples work and am fully welcoming of clients who choose polyamorous and consensual non monogamous relationships.
I can see clients from home or from the Lightwell Practice. The first sessions will allow us to get to know one another and to start to establish a fuller understanding of what needs addressing. Some clients have a clear and specific idea of what is amiss, and what is expected from counselling and therapy. For many of us however, there is a general sense of unease, a feeling of stuckness or unhelpful repetition of feelings, thoughts and behaviours, and it can take a little time before we can really identify what the presenting problem is, and how to tackle it.
I am passionate about understanding what makes us tick, and offer a warm, confidential and respectful space in which to explore this with my clients. I find no greater reward than to work with clients to arrive at a greater understanding of self, leading to positive outcomes such as a happier and more effective working life, and deeper and more fulfilling interpersonal relationships.
Over the past 30 years I have also worked as a manager, coach and mentor in both business and education, and currently combine this experience with my therapeutic practice to offer unique and effective supportive services to individuals at corporate level.
I am a member of both UKATA and ITAA and subscribe to their codes of ethics.
I attend regular supervision and keep up to date with current practice through Continued Professional Development
